CALL FOR PAPERS

To enhance the scientific value of its 14th Annual Scientific Meeting of APSCVIR 2019 that would be held from 21 – 24 February 2019 at BICC Nusa Dua Bali, Indonesia to promote the research and the updates in the field of cardiovascular or interventional radiology, the Call for Abstracts is now open. Both Oral & Poster Presentations are welcome.

Free Paper Abstract Submission Deadline is extended
to 31 December 2018

GENERAL POLICIES & REQUIREMENT

  • All Abstracts must be original work
  • No Abstracts will be considered after the closing deadline
  • Presenting Author of Abstract must be registered as Registrant. Registration payment deadline is extended to 31 January 2019. The unpaid status of your registration will make your Abstract submission disqualified accordingly.
  • The Abstracts submission for the same Author is limited up to two Abstracts
  • Please mentioned your preference of your Abstract(s) for: (a) Oral Presentation, (b) E-Poster Presentation, (c) Walking Poster

WITHDRAWAL / CHANGES

  • Abstract is allowed to be edited for one time only. The edited Abstract should be emailed to secretariat@apscvir2019.com with the subject: [APSCVIR 2019 Abstract Revised] (Author Name) at the latest before 31 December 2018.
  • Withdrawal/changes will not be possible after the above mentioned date.
  • Should you wish to withdraw your Abstract, please email to secretariat@apscvir2019.com

PUBLICATION

  • The presenting Author must be a Registrants in order to ensure their Abstract(s) is included in the final program. The uncommitted registration will cause the disqualification of Abstract and will not be published accordingly
  • Submission acknowledges consent to publication of the Abstract in the Website and Abstract Book. Abstract submission also means the agreement to such publication and to surrender any copyright over the Abstract
  • The Organizing Committee has a right reserve to edit the format of abstract due to the printing task for publication in terms of uniformity purpose

ABSTRACT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

  • Submission of abstract will be acknowledged by email reply to each nominated email address at the latest before 20 January 2019 after reviewed by the Free Paper Coordinator to be allocated in either oral or poster upon category; quality, clarity, and relevance for the audience, as well as the significant of paper
  • Notification will be emailed to nominated email address with the detail, including instructions, place, date and time

REWARD FOR BEST PRESENTATIONS

  • All the Free Paper Presentations will be pre-sided by Panel of Juries upon schedule
  • The best paper presented will be rewarded the cash prizes
  • The result of winning presentations will be formally announced on Saturday, 23 February 2019. All the presenters are expected to attend the ceremony

ABSTRACT PREPARATION GUIDELINES

All Abstracts must be submitted online with Microsoft Word file attachment, with the preparation as follow:

  1. Abstracts must be typed in English; Arial font size 11pt and single spacing
  2. The Abstract must not exceed the 300 word limit excluding the title and authors.
  3. Abstract title is limited to 20 words in UPPER CASE (All Caps)
  4. Authors’ full name shall be written by first name and followed by family name in upper and lower case
  5. Primary author(s) is the first mentioned, and underlined for presenting author
  6. Affiliation details in sequence for department, institution/hospital, city/state, country
  7. Avoid using non standard abbreviations, unfamiliar terms; symbols or acronyms not easily understood by general readers. Non-standard abbreviations must be defined in full at their first appearance
  8. Use generic name of drugs. Express numbers as numerals
  9. A maximum 3 Tables of up to 10 rows x 10 columns can be included per abstract
  10. Graphs/diagrams/images should be in JPG/JPEG format. A maximum of 3 images can be included per abstract. The maximum pixel size of the graph/image is 600(w) x 800(h) pixel
  11. It is important to put note on each images and graphs in the abstract, which is worth maximum 30 words. The complete abstract (including text; graphs and tables) must not exceed size limit of 17cm wide and 19cm length
  12. References are not obligatory and word count is affected by inclusion of references
  13. The content of Abstracts is four paragraphs in UPPER CASE that briefly state as follow:
    a) OBJECTIVE: State concisely why the study was conducted.
    b) METHOD: Indicate the locale, sample number, principal test(s) performed and the types of statistical analysis employed.
    c) RESULT: confirm or refute the hypothesis, supported by statistic if appropriate
    d) CONCLUSION: State the effect of the study on future patient management or understanding of basic process

PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

ORAL PRESENTATION

  • Save your slide setup in 16:9 ration (widescreen) to fit the projection
  • If you have disclosure to make (such as conflict of interest or funding support from commercial organisations) please ensure it’s included in the slide at the start of your presentation
  • PowerPoint slide template option for your presentation (1) dark background (2) white background
  • The function room will be equipped with the laptop and data projector with the microphone and laser pointer. Please refer your presentation at the Audio Visual Desk (next to the podium/stage) in each mentioned function room at least 30 minutes prior to your schedule in memory stick.

E-POSTER PRESENTATION

The organiser request all accepted poster presenters provide an electronic poster that will displayed in dedicated E-Poster Booth. The final PDF version of your poster must be emailed to secretariat@apscvir2019.com at the latest 1 February 2019

  • All posters must be created in a vertical format with the pixel ratio 1080 wide by 1920 high (if creating in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, set your page to 10.8cm wide x 19.2cm high
  • Headline in Arial Bold is contained of poster title. Subhead in Arial bold and the body text is Arial Black 15; Paragraph spacing 6 after. Body text is continuous with charts an tables filling the columns with text using the body text style as needed. Paragraphs automatically leave one space before the following paragraph.
  • PowerPoint slide template option for your presentation (1) dark background (2) white background

WALKING POSTER

For few cases where printed poster is a requirement of the funding organisation, will be accommodated at the meeting. Walking poster will be assigned a poster display board. The walking poster schedule  and panel number will be further announced.

  • Each Poster is limited in size 1186mm high x 900mm wide – portrait orientation is required.
  • The Poster should be self-explanatory, so that you are free to supplement and discuss particular points raised by viewers
  • Poster material/illustrations will be viewed from distances of one meter or more, therefore lettering should be large as possible and preferably bold type.
  • Poster presenter is responsible for build-up and dismantling his/her own poster. The Velcro will be provided when you re-registered.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR ABSTRACT ON-LINE

  1. The participant has to complete the registration formality first as the Registrant of the APSCVIR2019 before continue to submit for Free Paper Abstract.
  2. Visit abstract submission page (https://apscvir2019.com/free-paper-submission-form/) and fill in all required fields.
  3. Reg/Order ID is the digit numbers given when you do the registration on-line
  4. Click upload button and choose the abstract’s file from your local PC – we strongly recommend for word-processor software – then click “Submit” to complete the submission process
  5. Acceptable in file formats are .doc, .docx or zip, the maximum filesize is 1 MB – kindly note that it is common that uploading file may take a while depending on traffic and you internet connection.

Note: The Reg/Order ID of the registration payment must be filled-in the field required

APSCVIR 2019 Scholarship for Countries with Developing IR Programs

Dear APSCVIR Members,

Application for the APSCVIR Young IR Sponsorship to APSCVIR 2019 in Bali is now open. The purpose of the APSCVIR Young IR sponsorship is to encourage young IRs below the age of 40 years to present abstracts at our APSCVIR Annual Scientific Meetings.

APSCVIR has made provision for up to 15 awards each year of SGD 1,000 each.

The application form with its terms and conditions is attached for your reference. The closing date for this application will be on 15 January 2019. Please assist with disseminating this email to the young IRs in your home society.

JOIN OUR MANUSCRIPT WRITING CLUB SESSION

How to get your Paper published in the top ranked IR Journals? What are great tips on improvement from upside sharing your writing?

Whether you are working on actual draft papers/manuscript or designing clinical research, writing alongside supportive peers is a great way to enhance skills and find your voice.

Join our MANUSCRIPT WRITING CLUB to improve your writing and meet the Editor of CIRSE’s CVIR Editor-in-Chief: Klaus Hausegger (Austria) and JVIR Editor: Ziv Haskal (USA).

The practical Session will explore and experiment draft papers problems and discuss issues such as structure; content; design; writing, etc. and we will have the chance to interact with Editors slightly further ahead on their writing journey.

The MANUSCRIPT WRITING CLUB Session is open to all Postgraduate students and Early Career Researchers who have an interest in developing their Academic Career.

Therefore we urge the EC Members to nominate their young colleagues to attend the MANUSCRIPT WRITING CLUB SESSION in 14th APSCVIR 2019 at 22 February 2019 (07.30 – 08.30) at Nusantara I Room, 2nd Floor BICC Nusa Dua.

This MANUSCRIPT WRITING CLUB SESSION is eligible for Registrants only. The Participants must be registered as Delegate of 14th APSCVIR.

Limited to 30. First come first serve.

Please recommend and submit your Young Colleagues [Email] [Name] [Institution] [City] [Country] to secretariat@apscvir2019.com. The registration will be closed on 15 January 2019.

No Onsite registrations.

The nominated colleagues will be pre-distributed the Draft Papers that had problems by email in advanced and discuss the mentioned draft papers with the Editors. The writing club session also encourages the young colleagues to submit and discuss the draft papers they are working on.
